Each of these beautiful hand carved planters are a one of a kind. The serene, earthy look of the natural stone has no comparison. Cantera stone planters are mineral rich and porous, helping to feed and modulate the humidity of the plants they contain. Unlike clay and ceramics, cantera is resistant to breakage from freezing weather. Each planter also has drainage holes in the base. Cantera stone is lighter in color when dry, and when wet it darkens and colors intensify. Cantera stone may contain some natural volcanic ash pores, which are "imperfections" in the stones density and consistency. There may be small pockets in the stone that are ash powder. We do our best to only supply you with the products that are free of these imperfections, but please keep in mind this is a natural product that has been carved by hand. The wild nature of the geological formation of cantera is what gives its unique variety of colors and textures.
