Naturally alkalinizing, onyx neutralizes acidity found in soils, streams, and ponds caused by environmental pollution or naturally occurring elements. We use an acid wash as our polishing method, as opposed to a resin coating that other vendors frequently use to polish stone. The advantage with acid washing is there are no chemical residues and the polish is longer lasting than a synthetic coating. The onyx itself neutralizes the same acid that washes it.
