These unique and multi-functional products are hand carved from Cantera stone and left unsealed to be used as wine chillers, ice buckets, vases, or planters. They are intended for outdoor use or on surfaces that can become damp without damage. Delicate surfaces may be protected by placing a saucer underneath or by applying a stone sealer to the base and lower quarter. These items can also make very unique planters for miniature succulent and cactus gardens.
To use as a wine chiller: simply wet the stone under running water and place in freezer for 2 or more hours, at which point the stone will be cold and ready to use. A fully frozen wine chiller holds cold for up to 3 hours. Store it in the freezer and it will always be ready for the next use. To use as a vase: simply wet the stone, add water and flowers, then set vase on a saucer to prevent moisture from passing into the surface the vase sits on. Note that the Cantera is unsealed and therefore water will slowly filter through the stone. If you wish to permanently prevent this, you may apply a stone sealer.
